A'ali Burial Mounds
The largest prehistoric cemetery in the world. once
having thousands of burial mounds dating back to
3000 BC. Many are still intact near A‘AIi and Sa'ar.

Bahrain Fort (Oal'at al Bahrain)
First occupied in 2800BC, the actual fort was built
towards the end of the i-4th century. lt was renovated
in the 1980s.
Arad Fort
Located near the airport, the fort
was built in typical Arab style in the
15th century.
Riffa Fort
Built by Shaikh Sulman Bin Ahmed Al Fateh in 1812.
the old military fort was a private residence until
the 1970s. lt was renovated in 1989.
Barbar Temple
Excavations have revealed three stone built temples, the
earliest dating from the second and third millennia BC.
Bait Shaikh Isa
A traditional Bahraini house with
windtowers that cooled homes in pre-
electricity days.
Bait Siyadi
A 19th—century pearl merchants house which is a
fine example of Bahraini architecture, featuring
stained glass windows. carved screens and ornate
ceilings.
Tree of Life
A 400-year old tree that stands alone in the desert
with no known source of water, hence the name.
Grand Mosque
The largest mosque in Bahrain that can accommodate
up to 7000 worshippers. Modest dressing is required
when visiting.
Bahrain National Museum
Features ancient artefacts from Bahrain's historic
sites, life size exhibits include a burial mound with
5000 year old skeletons, pottery and scenes from
Bahrain’s proud past.
Bait Al Our'an
Home to rare lslamic manuscripts, prints
and books. the building is also a mosque
and study centre with Fascinating
architecture.
The Heritage Centre
Originally the law courts, the Centre displays models
of pearl diving, fishing, falconry, modern art and
weapons and has an excellent photographic archive.
Bait Al Jasra
The birthplace of HH the Amir. Built
in 1907 and restored in 1936 as a
heritage museum.
Oil Museum
A museum in the desert which exhibits photographs
and techniques used for drilling oil. Built to
commemorate the discovery of oil in Bahrain in 1932.
